Hogan puts the Brakes on reopening; urges citizens not to travel to hot spots; tightens mask restrictions

July 29th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

Governor Larry Hogan, on Wednesday, announced that further reopening plans for Maryland amid the coronavirus are “paused” in place. With the number of hospitalizations on the rise, Hogan said Maryland will not move into the third phase of the Roadmap to Recovery until it is safe, prudent and thoroughly backed by the data and medical science. In addition, the state is urging people to postpone or cancel travel to a number of states that are seeing high infection rates and to get tested and self-quarantine upon returning. And the governor announced a tightening of masks restrictions effective Friday- now requiring the wearing of masks or face coverings in the public spaces of  all businesses across the state; and at outdoor public areas when it is not possible to maintain social distancing

Also announced Wednesday, Fran Phillips, the Deputy Secretary for Public Health Services for the Maryland Department of Health and a common attendee at Hogan’s coronavirus press conferences, is retiring. She will stay on in an advisory capacity. Replacing Phillips will be Dr. Jinlene Chan, a former health official in Anne Arundel County and the current assistant state health secretary.

They will see you corrected them and change it in a couple hours. Proofreading doesn’t exist on this site.

The funny thing is, most of the stories here come from the Times-News. How hard is it to copy and paste?

      > They eventually corrected it above but just to show that nobody tells them how to spell, they now have it proudly displayed with “breaks” as the feature story on the right side of their homepage.

Really people? This country is in a dire, serious pandemic and all you can do is criticize the grammar of an article. How many would devote the same level of criticism toward DUM DUM DONALD? H.L.Mencken said it best, “On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land shall reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright MORON.”
