Justice Addresses Unemployment Benefits During Briefing

West Virginia Governor Jim Justice held his daily virtual news briefing on COVID-19 Tuesday afternoon, focusing mainly on reopening announcements he made on Monday, but it ended with a bang about unemployment benefits. The last question Justice was asked surrounded if anything was being done to protect workers from losing unemployment benefits if they are called back to their jobs.  At that point Justice made an impassioned plea for everyone to stop playing politics with what it literally a life and death issue…

    Why would we voluntarily return to work if you are going keep giving boosted unemployment benefits to us if we refuse. I’m not going back unless you stop paying me.
