Lonaconing house fire under investigation

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's office is investigating a fire that was first reported to the Allegany County Joint Communications Center just after 11 p.m. on Thursday, according to officials. 

 

"Callers reported being able to see the flames and glow of the fire from a great distance," Lt. Todd Bowmam, public information officers for the Allegany County Department of Emergency Services said. "Firefighters remained on the scene for approximately three hours at the two-story duplex."

 

Fire departments from Lonaconing, Midland, Barton, Shaft, Frostburg, Westernport, Keyser, Piedmont and Eastern Garrett. Ambulances from George's Creek, Tri-Towns EMS and a Department of Emergency Services EMS supervisor responded to the incident. 

 

"Fire department units remained on the scene until approximately 2 a.m.," Bowman said.
