Marchini appointed to fill vacant City Council seat

January 11th, 2019 by WCBC Radio

The Cumberland Mayor and City Council announce that they have concluded their interview and selection process for the vacant council seat created by the election of David Caporale to the Allegany County Board of Commissioners. Having interviewed all 15 individuals who applied for the position, the Mayor and Council are pleased to announce that they have selected Ms. Laurie Marchini for that appointment. "This was a hard decision," stated Mayor Raymond Morriss.  "The Council and I had very good discussions with all fifteen of the candidates and found we had plenty of qualified individuals to choose from.  We believe Ms. Marchini is the best and right choice and we are looking forward to working with her to make some wonderful things happen for our city."  The nomination of Ms. Marchini for the vacant seat will be made at the January 15th public meeting of the City Council and a formal vote will be taken.  Ms. Marchini will then be sworn in that night by Dawn Lindsey, Clerk of the Allegany County Circuit Court, and will assume her role as Councilwoman to complete the term of Mr. Caporale, which will extend through January, 2021.

Questions regarding this matter may be directed to the City Administrator's Office at 301-759-6424.

Just as the extra-legal activities by her on the BoE are exposed, the new Mayor poisons the council with this person!?! More grim years ahead!
