Maryland and West Virginia are among 29 states who have joined a lawsuit by the U.S. Department of Justice against Live Nation—owner of Ticketmaster—for alleged antitrust violations.
The suit alleges Live Nation and Ticketmaster’s merger created a monopoly in the entertainment industry, stifling competition. The investigation involving Live Nation gained momentum after Ticketmaster crashed during sales for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour.
