Mayor-Elect Ray Morriss Pledges To Improve Communication Between City & County Commissioners

Cumberland’s mayor-elect Ray Morriss has pledged to improve the lines of communication between city officials and the Allegany County Commissioners- and he tells WCBC News that that process will begin on day one of his administration. Morriss, who will be sworn in to office officially on Monday afternoon at City Hall, said during the campaign that all too often it appeared as though there was not a good working relationship between city and county officials. He wants to see that change, noting that there are some obvious areas of consolidation of services that can easily be implemented and streamlined. He also wants to work closer with the Cumberland Economic Development Corporation to get a better handle on the housing situation city-wide…
