MD Catholic Schools superintendent discusses flexibility in reopening plan

In just a few weeks, as a result of a decision by the Archdiocese of Baltimore, Catholic schools students in Maryland, including those at Bishop Walsh, will have the option of whether to return to school buildings or not. Under the plan, most schools will be able to safely accommodate all students for five-day, in-person instruction. However, some schools with not enough space or staff may have to begin the year with a blended or hybrid model. The public school systems in Maryland that have announced fall plans to date have indicated students will begin the year learning from home. Donna Hargens, superintendent of schools for the archdiocese, told WBAL that said having fewer students, as well as some other factors, gives Catholic schools more flexibility in allowing in-person learning…
