Medical Cannabis Company Continues Expansion

Despite a sagging economy and a world wide pandemic- Grow West officials report experiencing steady growth- having quadrupled it’s workforce since beginning operations more than two years ago. On Thursday the Allegany County Commissioners approved the sale of 11 acres of land to Manticorp LLC, a subsidiary of the medical cannabis manufacturer. The cannabis growing business set up an extensive operation in the former Kelly Springfield Complex on Kelly Road in March of 2018.  In July 2019, they opened the Grow West Cannabis Co. Dispensary at 1096 W. Industrial Blvd. in South Cumberland. County Commissioners President Jake Shade said Thursday’s transaction in the amount of $383,000 will allow further expansion…

 

The medical marijuana industry has not been without controversy and has its share of critics- but locally Shade said this effort has been a win-win proposition for Grow West and Allegany County…
