Although the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad has moved its headquarters out of the Railway Station in Cumberland- shifting all operations to Ridgeley- local elected officials tell WCBC News they view the move as strictly temporary. The tourist train has been shut down this season due to the restrictions in place as a result of the Coronavirus- and that has led to an estimated $650,000 loss in revenue according to General Manager John Garner- forcing the railroad to look at cost cutting measures. Cumberland Mayor Ray Morriss tells WCBC News he fully expects the scenic railroad to re-open its headquarters and central location at Canal Place once the COVID-19 pandemic runs its course- and restrictions are lifted…
