New BOE President Discusses Split Votes

January 14th, 2021 by WCBC Radio

The first meeting of the new year for the new Allegany County Board of Education opened with two split votes and some pointed comments among board members. During the election of officers one board member suggested that others on the board do not act impartially; while another called the process underhanded. It was hardly the welcome expected by the newest member of the board Crystal Bender after she was elected president. Bender joined WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” on the morning after the meeting to discuss how that situation played out. Bender said she has little interest in board politics or personal agendas and is insteady focusing all of her energies on the kids..
