Nine arrested in early morning drug bust in Westernport

During the early morning hours of December 20th, the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of numerous allied agencies executed search and seizure warrants at three separate locations in the Town of Westernport. The search warrants were a result of a multi- state investigation into burglaries and thefts in the George’s Creek area. Throughout the month of December deputies with the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office and the Maryland State Police took numerous reports of burglaries and thefts that led to a multi- state, multi- jurisdictional investigation. Through the investigation numerous suspects were identified and arrest warrants were obtained. Beyond obtaining arrest warrants deputies continued the investigation and gathered information leading to four separate search and seizure warrants being issued.

The first search and seizure warrant was executed on December 10th at a residence on Burke Hill Road in the McCoole area. Deputies were assisted in the execution of the search and seizure warrant by the Cumberland City Police Department CERT Team. During the execution of the search and seizure warrant deputies recovered several stolen items including firearms, tools, electronics totaling approximately $20,000. An amount of methamphetamines was also recovered. Deputies obtained additional information pertaining to the burglaries and thefts in the area which led to the execution of a search warrant in the City of Keyser, WV. The warrant was executed by the Joint Criminal Investigation Division of the West Virginia State Police, and Keyser Police Department.

The continued investigation led to Pottstown, Pennsylvania. The Pottstown Police Department was able to locate firearms stolen from Allegany County, MD.

The investigation continued as deputies working with allied agencies in Maryland, West Virginia and Pennsylvania obtained additional information leading to three additional search warrants being issued. In the early morning hours of December 20th search warrants were executed at three separate locations in the Town of Westernport.  Deputies were assisted in the execution of the search and seizure warrants  by the Cumberland City Police Department CERT Team, Maryland State Police Special Tactical Assault Team Element S.T.A.T.E Team and the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team. During the execution of the search and seizure warrants additional stolen property was recovered as well as controlled dangerous substances and paraphernalia.

Michael Anthony Miller, 34

Burglary 1st, 3rd, 4th, Conspiracy to commit burglary and others

Meredith Grimm, 18

Possession of Methamphetamines

Jason Allen Shingler,

Burglary 1st, 3rd, 4th, Conspiracy to commit burglary and others (Held in Mineral County)

Kristin Washington, 23

Obstructing and Hindering

Quentin Coffman, 19

Burglary 1st, 3rd, 4th, Conspiracy to commit burglary and others  

 

Selena R Amoruso, 30

Possession of Controlled Paraphernalia

Johnie Lynn Haines, 37

Failure to appear (Held in Mineral County)

Melvin Roe Jr, 38

Theft of Motor vehicle

Theft over $1,000

Theft less than $100,

Additional arrests were in the State of West Virginia as a result of this investigation.
