WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM SUNDAY TO 2 AM EST MONDAY... * WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches expected. * WHERE...Portions of western Maryland, eastern West Virginia, and the northern Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. * WHEN...From 10 AM Sunday to 2 AM EST Monday. Snow will overspread the area between 9 AM and 11 AM Sunday morning. Snow will be heaviest between 2 PM and 7 PM Sunday afternoon and evening, with snowfall rates around one inch per hour expected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel will be difficult due to snow covered and slippery roads. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
