Ocean City Mayor Responds to Weekend Pictures

May 27th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan is downplaying photos that appeared to show a crowded boardwalk over the Memorial Day weekend. Photos showed few people on the boardwalk wearing masks and many appeared to be standing within 6 feet of each other.  While on-air with WBAL Radio  Meehan said some parts of the boardwalk were crowded but called some photos "misleading"…

A number of outdoor beach scenes have been misleading as they were taken at street level, with no perspective. Other photos taken from airplanes show large distances among individuals, again because of the different photo perspective. Lots of manipulation going on with these visuals.

Besides, most deaths are occurring among those over 70 or 80, and 40-70% are in nursing homes (witness Allegany County).

Protect the elderly (this writer included) and let people carefully lead their lives.
