Police Arrest One on CDS Complaint

On May 12, 2020, Cumberland Police officers were dispatched to the area of Pear Street for a suspicious vehicle complaint. Officers located the vehicle in the area, and after observing traffic violations conducted a traffic stop.  Officer contacted the operator Tashia Nave, age 46 of Cumberland, Maryland. A K-9 unit to respond to the scene and a free air sniff was conducted of the vehicle. The police K-9 indicated a positive alert for the odor of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS).  A subsequent probable cause search revealed an amount of CDS and paraphernalia. Nave was arrested and charged with possession of CDS not marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia. She was later taken for her Initial Appearance in District Court and released on her personal recognizance.
