While on patrol an officer observed a vehicle traveling on Pershing St. fail to stop at a stop sign and spin its wheels. The vehicle was stopped and the vehicle operator Jonathan Emerick was contacted. While talking with Emerick the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath and person. He also observed his speech to be slurred and his eyes were glassy. He was asked if he would take standardized field sobriety tests and agreed to. Emerick failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. During search incident to arrest a marijuana smoking device was located in his pocket. He was transported to PH where he was charged and processed.
Jonathan Lee Emerick Age: 33 Getson Ln., Cumberland, MD.
Charges: DUI, DWI, Fail to stop at stop sign, CDS Paraphernalia Possession
Emerick was issued several citations and released pending trial in District Court.
