Potential Trone opponant critical of impeachment process

December 20th, 2019 by WCBC Radio

On Friday, December 20th, Congressional candidate and House of Delegates member Neil Parrott (R-2A) criticized the impeachment process of President Trump by Congressman David Trone and the Democrats in the United States House of Representatives.

Parrott indicated that, “This impeachment procedure is unprecedented and is making a mockery of true justice.  First, for the first time in history, they started the impeachment process without even having a vote, then when there was a vote, there was bipartisan opposition.  After that, they impeached a President who committed no crimes. The impeachment articles couldn’t even document a crime. Now, they won’t send the articles of impeachment to the US Senate.”  He indicated that all past impeachments of presidents, including the impeachment inquiry against President Nixon, included actual crimes in the impeachment articles.

Parrott described how, “The impeachment articles the House just passed, without any Republican support and four Democrats not supporting it, are very vague.  It’s hard to even understand how so many Democrats support them. Why would you vote to impeach a president over alleged activities that aren’t even criminal?”

Parrott also expressed concern that the partisan political gamesmanship that led to President Trump’s impeachment will continue unabated. “Now, we are learning that Speaker Pelosi plans to hold on to the articles and not formally deliver them to the Senate. By doing this, she can delay the Senate trial as long as she wishes. This would be a tremendously unfortunate and troubling decision. The Senate trial needs to happen soon, so that our country can move on from this needlessly divisive issue,” Parrott said.

Parrott, who has served as a State Delegate since 2011, announced his candidacy for Maryland’s 6th congressional district last month during a district-wide tour that included events in each of the district’s 5 counties.

Mr. Parrott is an idiot – and that is being very kind to him.

Trone never had this district’s interests. Only the typical spiel of the Democrat party.

Sir, Obstruction of Congress is most definitely a crime. This was decided by the Supreme Court in United States v. Nixon, 418 U.S. 683.

My question to you would be to ask how can any American vote for you, in good faith, knowing that you have no real comprehension of what would be your Congressional Oath or of what the Constitution requires from you?

Our president deserves the respect of every american ,but gets none . He has not been charged with nothing that is impeachable and will prevail and be elected by a landslide. SO get some respect for him. By the way step back and take a good look at what democrats have done for Maryland all these years, But the republicans are making it better little by little. LETS VOTE MORE ON THE RIGHT SIDE FOR ONCE.

Parrott is a career Washington County politician and could care less about anything west of Sidling Hill.
