Rift Between Hogan, Teachers Union President Widens

As Governor Larry Hogan pushes schools to reopen, the state teachers' union vows to be part of the conversation, and there is a growing rift between the two sides. Cheryl Bost, president of the Maryland State Education Association, says thousands of Maryland teachers want shots but can't get them. In a letter to the governor, Bost says those in the education field are frustrated by the "lackadaisical" implementation of, and resources for, safety measures in schools and that Hogan's actions have painted educators as "opponents and obstacles." The union views comments made by Hogan recently as threats and bullying tactics designed to force teachers back into the classroom…
