A series of water main breaks in the area of Decatur Street in recent years has caused extensive damage- on numerous occasions- to the Adams Family Funeral Home. The most recent break at the end of last month caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage according to owner/operator Bob Adams. Insurance only covers so much of the costs- and reaching settlements with the city has proven challenging and time consuming. He told WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” he is reaching his breaking point…

That’s sad. The Adams Family Funeral Home shouldn’t have to keep getting flooded. Most businesses couldn’t stay open after that much damage, and not getting reimbursed for it. I think the City needs to come up with some solution so that it doesn’t happen again.
