On Thursday, January 17th, 2019, Deputies with the Allegany County Sheriff's Office conducted a Criminal Enforcement Initiative. The Initiative was conducted along a state route to target and/or prevent any criminal activity along roadways within Allegany County.
The effort was conducted for a period of 4 hours, and resulted in the following arrest and recovery of evidence:
9 Traffic Stops for various traffic violations (6 Citations issued)
9 Adult Criminal Arrests
2 Arrest Warrants Served
1 Out of State Fugitive Arrest Warrant Served
1 Possession of Marijuana Civil Citation issued
2 Vehicles Seized
22.5 grams of suspected Heroin recovered estimated street value of over $3,000
A large amount of Marijuana recovered with estimated street value of over $10,000
and a Sum of U.S. Currency
The Allegany County Sheriff's Office continually and routinely conducts similar criminal enforcement efforts throughout the County in an effort to ensure the safety and security of the citizens we serve.
