Superintendent Shake-up Possibility Depending on Board General Election

June 29th, 2018 by WCBC Radio

The top three vote getters in Tuesday’s Allegany County Board of Education Primary Election, have all at various times expressed dissatisfaction with School Superintendent Dr. David Cox. Incumbent Wayne Foote, the top vote getter has been a frequent critic of Cox and did not vote to re-new his contract last year; while the second place finisher Robert Farrell is currently involved in a lawsuit against Cox. David Bohn who finished third also has been critical of Cox. This has all led to speculation that if those three are elected in November, it could lead to an effort to dump the superintendent. Such a move would not be without complications as Cox just last year signed a new four year contract. WCBC’s political analyst and former school board member Jeff Metz commented on the possibility…

Foote was asked if making a change at the top is something he would consider if re-elected in the fall…
