Two Arrested After Stabbing on Charles Street

On Sunday at approximately 7:30 PM the Cumberland City Police Department were dispatched to the 200 block of Charles Street for a stabbing. Upon arrival officers located the victim and observed heavy bleeding from multiple stab wounds. The victim was able to provide several suspects’ names. The Cumberland Fire Department arrived on scene and transported the victim to the hospital with life threatening injuries. Officers from the Cumberland City Police Department, Allegany County Sheriff’s Office and Maryland State Police responded to an address in the 100 block of Park Street and located Kelly Lynn Clark a named suspect by the victim. Clark was subsequently arrested and taken to the Police Station. The residence on Park Street was secured pending execution of a search warrant. While waiting for a search warrant to be authored another named suspect, Tyrell Aaron Morris walked to the residence.  Morris was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Police Station. The County Combined Criminal Investigation (C3I) Unit was contacted and conducted interviews and search warrants. Clark and Morris were taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await their initial appearances before a District Court Commissioner. This incident remains under investigation and more charges may be filed.

Charges – Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree

 

Arrested – Kelly Lynn Clark (44) Cumberland, MD

Charges – Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree
