On Monday, March 22nd, 2021 the Cumberland Police Department responded the area of Queen City Drive to check on wellbeing of a female driver of a U-Haul who was reported to be unconscious.  When officers arrived, they observed the female in question who did appear to be passed out or unconscious.  Contact was made with the female who was identified as Daysai Lychai Flores and a male passenger identified as Jordon Larine Redfern.  They were made aware of the complaint and claimed they were both tired from packing and decided to rest.  A Cumberland K-9 officer also assisted and performed a scan of the U-Haul.  The K-9 alerted to the presence of CDS and a subsequent search revealed a quantity of suspected Heroin/Fentanyl and Alprazolam inside of the vehicle.  Both Flores and Redfern were arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute CDS.  Redfern was also wanted out of Frederick County for failing to appear on a 1st degree assault charge.  They were both taken before the District Court Commissioner and Flores was released on her own personal recognizance and Redfern was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond.
