It was last July that Allegany County officials broke ground on a $1.1 million road and utilities project near Rawlings- with the goal being to attract residential and commercial developers, create jobs and strengthen the tax base. Some six years since the county initially became involved in what is known as the Cumberland Chase project- an announcement on potential development is on the agenda of tonight’s commissioners meeting. Local businessmen Jeff Metz and David Weimer, along with county administrator Brandon Butler are expected to provide details of the project. With the entrance to the property from U.S. Route 220, directly across the highway from the American Woodmark plant, Commissioner Creade Brodie Jr said the location is perfectly situated for both commercial and residential opportunities…
