On 1/29/15 at 12:09pm, Cumberland Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of N. Mechanic Street for a traffic violation.  During the stop, a police canine team responded and alerted to the presence of illegal drugs in the vehicle.  During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers located a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and other drugs in the passenger compartment.  Further, during the search officers discovered what appeared to be a mobile clandestine lab in the trunk of the vehicle.  After determining that there was a possibility of a clandestine lab, officers secured the vehicle and summoned the Cumberland Fire Department, Allegany County Hazardous Material Team, and the Allegany County Clandestine Lab Team, as per protocol.   The scene was then investigated by the specialist and it was determined that the vehicle did contain the components of a clandestine lab used to manufacture illegal drugs.    The scene was made safe and the evidence seized by the Clandestine Lab Team.
