Western Maryland State Senator Steps Down

State Sen. Andrew Serafini announced his resignation on Thursday, effective Saturday. Serafini, a Washington County Republican, has represented District 2 since 2015. Before that, he served as a delegate for District 2A from 2008 to 2015. He served on the Senate's Budget and Taxation Committee.

“I am thankful for the relationships with my colleagues, and I am proud of the work we have done to improve the lives of all Marylanders," Serafini said in a statement. "I am especially grateful to my family, friends, employees and clients for supporting me in this journey over the past twelve years.”

Serafini, 58, is stepping down to focus on his family and financial planning business

    Hopefully we will eventually learn of what sort of misbehavior he was caught in to bring this about.
