Westernport Man Busted by Narcotics Task Force

On Thursday, November 7, members of the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force, with the assistance of the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Police Cumberland Barrack, Maryland State Police S.T.A.T.E. Team and Cumberland City Police Department executed a search and seizure warrant in the 20000 block of Creek Side Drive, Westernport, MD.

The search warrant was the result of an investigation by the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force into the sales of heroin and methamphetamine in the Georges Creek area of Allegany County. During the subsequent search, Allegany County Narcotics Task Force investigators located large amounts of methamphetamine. Also located was heroin packaged for resale and a handgun.                                       

As a result, Jason James Shingler, 42, of Westernport, MD was arrested. 

Shingler was charged with the following:

- CDS POSS W/INT TO DIST METHAMPHETAMINE

- CDS POSS W/INT TO DIST HEROIN

- CDS: POSS-NOT MARIJUANA (2 COUNTS)

- FIREARM/DRUG TRAF CRIME

- REG FIREARM:ILLEGAL POSSESSION

Following his initial appearance, Shingler was held without bond.  The investigation is ongoing.

    A big thanks to all the police agencies for nailing this guy. Heroin and meth are killing our young people. Which means the future of our nation.
