Airports Will See Cuts In Flights Due To Shutdown

November 7th, 2025 by WCBC Radio

The Federal Aviation Administration has announced plans to cancel 10% of flights at major airports across the country due to staffing issues. What is being termed as “controller fatigue” is to blame as air traffic controllers continue to work without pay, with many calling off sick. Airport locations include BWI, Dulles, and Reagan National.  ABC’s Nicole D’Antonio has details on the cancellations…

“Forty airports will be affected from Hartsville-Jackson in Atlanta to LAX in Los Angeles and from Miami to JFK in New York. Sources say the FAA will begin cutting 4% of the flights and will ramp up to 10% of flights for the coming weekend if the government is still shut down.”
