On March 7, 2021, at 10:46 pm, the Cumberland City Police responded to the 800 block of Maryland Avenue for an assault complaint. Upon arrival officers contacted the victim and Rodrigo Tatum, age 19 of Cumberland, Maryland. Officers learned that an argument occurred between Tatum and the victim. The argument then escalated and Tatum allegedly assaulted the victim. Subsequently, Tatum was arrested and charged with second degree assault. Tatum was later taken to District Court for his Initial Appearance, and released on his personal recognizance pending trial.
