On Sunday, November 2nd, 2025, the Cumberland Police Department arrested Braylin Nasir Rhodes, 19, of Cumberland MD. Rhodes was arrested on an active Arrest Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court for an incident that occurred earlier in the day on November 2nd. During that incident, the Cumberland Police responded to a W. Oldtown Rd residence for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers contacted a female victim who advised that Rhodes had assaulted them after a verbal altercation, causing them minor injuries. Rhodes then fled the residence prior to officers arrival on scene and was not able to be located. As a result, an application for charges was submitted and a warrant issued for his arrest. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance where he was released on a $2,500 unsecured bond.

	CHARGES -  Assault 2nd Degree.
On Sunday, November 2nd, 2025, the Cumberland Police Department arrested Norman Earl Smith, 27, of Baltimore MD. Smith was arrested on an active Arrest Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court for an incident that occurred earlier in the day on November 2nd. During that incident, the Cumberland Police conducted a traffic stop on a Kia passenger car in the area of Mechanic St. During the course of the stop, Smith was determined not to have a valid drivers license. As a result of the stop, the vehicle was towed from the scene and Smith was issued the appropriate traffic citations and released. After Smith was released, it was later learned that the vehicle he was driving was reported stolen out of Washington DC. Contact was made with DC Metro Police and as a result, an application for charges was submitted and a warrant issued for Smith's arrest. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held on $2,500 bond.

	CHARGES -  M/V Unlawful Taking, Theft $1500 to under $25000, Unlawful Removal of M/V, Rogue and Vagabond.
