On 04/27/2024 at approximately 10:30 PM the Cumberland City Police Department were dispatched to the 200 block of Baltimore Street for a trespassing complaint. Officers were advised several subjects were inside an uninhabitable building. Officers made contact with several individuals and were attempting to confirm the subjects’ identities. While speaking to the subjects William Victor Wight began to flee from officers. Wight was apprehended a short distance away after a brief struggle. Wight’s was searched incident to arrest and suspect fentanyl and methamphetamine were located. Wight was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center for central booking. Wight was seen before a District Court Commissioner and held without bond.

Charges – Burglary 4th degree, trespassing private property, resisting arrest, 2 counts of CDS possession not cannabis, obstructing and hindering
