Maryland’s Board of Public Works approved spending on projects that will benefit Allegany County at this week’s meeting. The Town of Luke received just under $11,000 for Pratt Street Park resurfacing along with benches and Cumberland’s Fairmount Avenue Park will be able to install pickleball courts and a community garden with $225,000 from the BPW. Five wastewater treatment plants across the county also received funding for work, totaling $700,000.
