On Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at approximately 2:57 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the area of N. George Street. Two of the occupants were identified as Jolene Fischer and James Lewis. A police K-9 was utilized which resulted in a positive alert for the odor of drugs in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle and occupants were conducted. Fischer was found to be in possession of two different controlled dangerous substances. Lewis was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Fischer and Lewis were arrested and transported to police headquarters. They were issued criminal citations and released pending trial.
