On December 6 at approximately 5:18 p.m., units from the Cumberland Police and Fire Departments responded to the intersection of N. Mechanic and Baltimore Streets for a single vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.  The pedestrian, Thomas Scannell Jr., 65, of Cumberland, later succumbed to his injuries resulting from the crash.  The crash remains under investigation by the Crash Reconstruction Unit of the Cumberland Police Department. No additional information is available to be released at this time.
