ASSAULT ARREST

On Friday, September 12, 2025 at approximately 11:58 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 600 block of Lincoln Street for an assault.  Police contacted the alleged victim who reported that she was assaulted by Michael Sharon.  Officers observed that the victim had sustained injuries.  After further investigation, Sharon was placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking.  He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner for a bond hearing and remanded to the Allegany County Detention  Center without bond.

ASSAULT ARREST

On Saturday, September 13, 2025 at approximately 4:13 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 100 block of S. Liberty Street for an assault.  Police contacted the alleged victim who reported that he was assaulted by Amber Diehl.  Officers observed that the victim had sustained injuries.  Diehl was located inside the residence.  When police attempted to place her under arrest, she resisted and assaulted two officers causing injuries.  Diehl was able to be taken into custody after a brief struggle.  She was also found to be in violation of pretrial release conditions due to a previous assault charge.  Diehl was later seen by a District Court Commissioner for a bond hearing.  At the conclusion, Diehl was remanded to the Allegany County Detention  Center without bond.
