On Monday, May 29th, 2023, The Cumberland City Police responded to the 200 block of Columbia St for the report of a breaking and entering into a vacant home. Upon arrival on scene, officers located the home and found it to be unsecured. Upon a subsequent search, a male subject was found in the basement. As a result, Benjamin Jacob Reimer, 42, of Cumberland MD was placed under arrest. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held on $2500 bond.
