The Maryland Comptroller’s office has announced that Andrea Brown is the new director of the Office of Taxpayer Advocate. Brown has served in the Comptroller’s office since 2006 and will now oversee a team of analysts who work with taxpayers to resolve complex issues that go beyond ordinary customer service. The Advocate will also recommend processes to improve the agency, aiming to make the tax system more equitable for all users.
