County Addressing Violations to Open Meetings Act

Allegany County Commissioners are addressing policies after violations of the Open Meetings Act occurred in two closed session meetings from last year.  Maryland’s Meetings Compliance Board charged that advertisement for the meetings was insufficient, discussion went beyond permitted exceptions, and a closed session statement was never publicly presented.  Commissioner Dave Caporale says changes are underway to meet policy processes…
