County to Send Letter to Governor’s Office

In support of Senator Mike McKay’s letter regarding the Bel Air water crisis, the Allegany County Commissioners will be writing their own and sending it to Governor Wes Moore’s office, the Attorney General’s Office and the Public Service Commission.  Research showing local water price comparisons will be included.  With the impending 17% increase, County Administrator Jason Bennett said he would be in contact with Moore’s office.  In the commissioner’s Open Work Session, Commissioner Creade Brodie said the water crisis is beyond the County…

“Regardless of how much we try we can’t fix this—this is strictly a state issue and the state can fix this pretty quick.  The governor can really fix it quick.  The legislator would have to legislate it to be fixed.  If we get involved, we’re talking years to fix.  These people don’t have years.”
