A couple in Fayette County, Pennsylvania – James and Carly Kahl - face criminal charges including aggravated assault and reckless endangerment after five children between ages 5 and 14 were found living in "deplorable" conditions at a home in Redstone Township, northwest of Uniontown. The children were reportedly held captive inside their rooms with no means of escape. Ally Wilson with Pennsylvania State Police says it was one of the worst things she's seen in her career:
“There were feces on the wall, there was a lack of food, there were no beds, there were fleas. It was deplorable. It's sickening, that's the only word that I can use to describe.”
