Early bird tickets are available for the Allegany County Social Service Board’s annual Crab Feast on September 27. Tickets are available for $45 now through June 16, which covers admission, food, and entertainment. Courtney Winterburg, director of the County Department of Social Services says the event raises funds to improve the quality of life for older county residents…

   

“These items ca include mobility aids, nutritional supplements, safety monitoring devices. We’ve also done some ramps, things that people need to be safe in their homes that regular program services might not be able to provide.”

Other fundraising goes on during the event as well, according to Winterberg…

  

“We do some basket raffles that are optional that people can take a chance on and they would not be part of your ticket, but all of the food and drinks and dessert are part of the ticket.”
