On Thursday, June 1, 2023, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Benn Deal. The summons was issued in connection with an assault investigation that was initiated on May 30, 2023 at approximately 3:40 PM. On this date, an officer of the Cumberland Police Department took the report of assaults that occurred in the 500 block of Winifred Rd. on May 28, 2023 and May 29, 2023. The alleged victim told police that she had been assaulted by Deal and that he also damaged her vehicle. Police observed that the victim had sustained injuries from the assault. After further investigation, police filed for charges against Deal at the District Court of Allegany County. Deal signed for his copy of the summons and was released pending trial.

CRIMINAL SUMMONS SERVED
On Thursday, June 1, 2023, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Aaron Frazier. The summons was issued in connection with a theft investigation that began on May 25, 2023. On this date at approximately 7:59 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business on Bedford Street for a theft. Police contacted the staff who reported that over the past month, employees have observed a male suspect come into the store, pretend to pay for items, and then leave the store with the items. The suspect was identified as Aaron Frazier. After further investigation, police filed for charges against Frazier at the District Court of Allegany County. Frazier signed for his copy of the summons and was released pending trial.

CRIMINAL SUMMONS SERVED
On Thursday, June 1, 2023, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Courtney Hall. The summons was issued as the result of an incident that occurred on May 19, 2023. On this date at approximately 5:43 PM, an officer of the Cumberland Police Department observed a fight in progress in a parking lot off of Queen City Drive. The officer contacted and identified the parties involved. The alleged victim reported that she was attacked by Hall. She told officers that Hall struck her in the face and threw her to the ground. Officers observed that the victim had sustained injuries. After further investigation, police filed for charges against Hall at the District Court of Allegany County. Hall signed for her copy of the summons and was released pending trial.
