On July 11th, 2025 the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on John Anthony Arlott Sr. The summons was issued after an officer completed an investigation into a fraud complaint made by a local business. The officer collected fraudulent checks made in Arlott's name and observed an identification card utilized by Arlott to obtain funds. After the evidence was collected, the officer filed for charges at District Court. Arlott signed for his copy of the summons and was released pending trial at District Court.
