Cumberland raid leads to arrest of a Mineral County murder suspect

October 20th, 2017 by WCBC Radio

The Cumberland Times News reports a 33-year-old Atlanta man who was one of four people convicted in a 2011 homicide in Ridgeley, West Vriginia, was arrested in a drug raid late Thursday at a Bond Street residence. Rasjahnan Tafari Roberts was taken into custody by Cumberland Police with the assistance of the Cumberland Emergency Response Team and narcotics investigators following the drug raid that occurred at about 9:20 p.m. The Times reports that Roberts was served a fugitive warrant from Mineral County for an alleged violation of probation stemming from an original charge of accessory after the fact to murder and malicious wounding. The original charge stemmed from the September 2011 shooting death of 25-year-old Ryan Henry and the wounding of 27-year-old Richard Henry, the victim's brother, who was shot in the face. The Henry brothers were from Westwood, N.J. Roberts entered a plea agreement in the case as did his brother, Rasshammach Roberts, who was arrested in April 2012 by the U.S. Marshal's Service Fugitive Task Force in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., shortly after he was featured on "America's Most Wanted" TV show.  After being taken into custody Thursday night, Rasjahnan Roberts was charged with felony drug distribution and misdemeanor drug charges, police said. Roberts was being held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center, pending extradition proceedings to return him to Mineral County.
