On July 4th, 2025 at approximately 12:57 a.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 500 block of Fayette Street for an assault. Upon arrival officers made contact with Ricky Allen Broadwater. Broadwater advised that there had been an assault and the other party had left the scene. Officers interviewed Broadwater and then made contact with the other party. The other party advised that they were grabbed by Broadwater while they were sleeping, while speaking with them the officer observed bruising and fresh blood on the victim's arm. At this time, It was determined that Broadwater was the primary aggressor, and he was placed under arrest. He was transported to Central Booking and is currently awaiting a bail review.
