Governor Patrick Morrisey signed orders this week for land acquisitions, making it easier for Milton, West Virginia to build a long-awaited floodwall. The levee will be over a mile long and when completed by the US Army Corp of Engineers will redirect part of the Mud River, protecting 600 homes. Milton experienced a 100-year flood in 2023. Morrisey said the wall would provide a 250-year level of protection…
“This project is now going to pave the way for so much good work – for the real estate activities that will occur in the region and ultimately for construction to begin in 2028. It is coming soon.”
