Frostburg’s “Green Team” and the Allegany County Library System have teamed up for the annual “Buy Nothing-Give Freely” event, scheduled for Saturday May 18 starting at 10am. City Place in Frostburg will be the site for the collection and pickup of nonperishable items, handheld or countertop appliances, pet supplies, sporting goods and tools. “We want people to think about rehoming items before just throwing them away, and the idea behind that is it keeps things out of the landfill, it keeps the city’s landfill costs down, and it helps people to keep things recirculating throughout our community rather than throwing them straight in the trash.”
