High-Rise Fire In Hagerstown

October 28th, 2025 by WCBC Radio

Early Sunday morning, the Hagerstown fire department responded to a call on Baltimore Street in the Hub City for a high-rise fire.  An apartment on the 8th floor of the Potomac Towers was showing heavy smoke when crews arrived. Apartment residents were evacuated from the structure and crews able to control the fire in under 15 minutes. A preliminary investigation shows the fire started in the apartment’s kitchen or living room and the Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.
