The Commission to Modernize State Procurement established by Governor Larry Hogan to conduct a comprehensive review of Maryland’s procurement code and regulations delivered its final report to the governor on Thursday, December 1, 2016. The report includes 57 recommendations to modernize the state procurement system by utilizing new technologies, simplifying the RFP process, and providing better procurement training to state personnel and businesses. Simultaneously, the state unveiled a new website, procurement.maryland.gov, as a comprehensive communications portal providing online access to Maryland procurement information for all policymakers, vendors, and citizens.
