For the train enthusiast the hooter whistles going to return to Western Maryland steam engine 1309 just in time for the Polar Express beginning in November according to Wes Heinz, Executive Director of the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad…

   

"There's a little bit history there, that whistle came off of a locomotive from the Norfolk and Western Railroad that used to pull coal out of the West Virginia mountains the Virginia mountains and it belongs to our CMO. We haven't had it on the engine very much here lately but I think we're going to have it on, if not this weekend we'll have it on next weekend."
