A report by Count on Mothers and Inseparable reveals that a majority of families is struggling to access and afford children’s mental health care. A survey revealed over 2,000 mothers see gaps in children’s mental health care access, with private insurance failing families at higher rates than Medicaid.  One in four Maryland moms report they were unable to access mental health care for their child when needed and that time was the biggest barrier, according to the report.  One in three moms report difficulty accessing counselors or psychologists at school.
